I was invited by the People’s Association at Jurong Lake Gardens to man a demo booth during the opening of Jurong Lake Gardens . What an experience with so many people coming by the booth to draw.

Pre-empting the large crowd, I knew I was unable to teach the true art form of Zentangle properly. So I devised pictures that can easily be filled in with tangles (patterns). I also prepared Step-Outs of some tangles that are easily deciphered. The results were overwhelming. I must have people from around 4 years old to seniors in their 70’s and 80’s. All were clearly amazed that they could draw.

I chose designs such as bird, flower, kayak and dragon boat were chosen to complement the environment of Passion Wave Jurong Lake. Participants need only to fill in the designs with some of the patterns in the Step-Outs.
