Homily: getting our nourishment

Where are you getting your nourishment from?

11 July 2020 Memorial of St. Benedict (Father of western monasticism)

Following the footsteps of St Benedict and his discernment process, ask: where am I getting my nourishment from?

Fr Mike told a story of a monkey that puts its hand into a jar with a coconut in it. The monkey grabs the coconut and then tries to pull its hand out of the narrow neck of the jar; of course the hand will not come out. There’s only one way for the hand to come out. To let go of the coconut.

What are you holding on to? Have you thought about letting go?
